Wyandotte County is a county cited in northeast Kansas, in the Central United States. Wyandotte County has a population of 157,595 according to 2010 census. The most populous city in Wyandotte county is Kansas City, Kansas which it allots a unified government.

Wyandotte County was a prohibition county until the Kansas Constitution was modified in 1986 and voters approved the sale of alcoholic liquor by the individual drink with a 30% food sales condition. The foof sales condition was eradicated with voter approval in 1988.

The county has a total land area of 156 square miles, creating it the least amount of land mass of the counties og Kansas according to U.S. Census Bureau.

In 2008, the county has an estimated population of 154,287, and it is the fourth largest county in the state of Kansas.

Brief History

The county is called after the Wyandot Indians. They were named the Huron by the French in Canada, however they called themselves Wendat. They were vaguely related to the Iroquios, with whom they often fought. They had expect to hold off the movement by white Americans into their terrain and had expected to create the Ohio River the border between Canada and United States.

The Wyandot in Kansas establish a constitutional form of government that they had planned in Ohio. They establish the territorial government for Kansas and Nebraska. It was one of theirown who was nominated as territorial governor.

1. Kansas City is the third largest city in the U.S. state of Kansas and the country seat of Wyandotte County. Kansas is molded in 1868 and incorporated in October 1872. Kansas City is located in "Tornado Alley", a broad region where cold air in the Rocky Mountains and Canada collides with warm air coming from Gulf of Mexico therefore formation of powerful storms. Kansas City has a population of 146,866 according to 2000 census.

Kansas City was placed the 7th best city in the United States to start over after foreclosure. The Rosedale Arch, devoted to the men of Kansas City, Kansas who served in World War I, which is a small-scale facsimile of France's famous Arc de Triomphe. The Kansas City T-Bones are a professional baseball team that tranferred to Kansas City, Kansas in 2003.  

2. Bonner Springs is a river city in 3 (Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte) counties in the U.S. state of Kansas. The city has a total area of 16.0 square miles in which 15.8 square miles consists of land and 0.3 square miles of the area is water.Bonner Springs is the home of the Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, it is a privately funded charitable organization chartered by U.S. Congress to educate the public the value of American agriculture and to recognize leadership in Agri-Business.

3. Edwardsville is a city in Wyandotte County, Kansas, United States and is a vernment" that also includes Kansas City, Kansas, most of Bonner Springs and more or less half of Lake Quivira. The city has a total area of 9.2 square miles.  According to 2000 census, the city population was about 4,146 resident.

The most attractive features of Edwardsville is its mixture of small town flavor near major sceneries such as the flourishing VIllage West retail area. Edwardsville's community flavor is distinct in activities like the famous September Autumnfest and parade. Crafts festival, evening of bingo and other children's play to complete the day.

4. Lake Quivira is a city that lies in Wyandotte County of only a quarter wherein majority lies also in Johnson County. As of 2000, the city has a population of 932. The city has a total area of 1.6 square miles in which 1.3 is land and 0.3 square miles is water.
